Opportunities From: Catholic Charities of Washtenaw County

Volunteer: Bring Jesus!

NOTE: If you are already a member of the Bring Jesus! outreach, then you do not need to respond here to this "opportunity."

With coordination and administration provided by Catholic Charities Washtenaw County, parishes in the Ann Arbor Deanery share the work of bringing our Eucharistic Lord to the isolated in residential care & correctional facilities as well as in our local hospitals.

This is a beautiful way to share the consoling presence of Jesus with those who might otherwise have no opportunity to receive him and to remind them that they still belong: they are not forgotten. The service is simple, beautiful, and much-needed.

Training and resources are provided.

Respond to this opportunity to indicate your interest and our Eucharistic Ministry coordinator will reach out. Or simply call Michelle Kazanjian at 734. 971.9781 X 388

Volunteer: Lawn Mowing Services for Seniors

At CCWC, we’re committed to helping our senior community members live with dignity and independence. One of the ways we do this is by offering free lawn mowing services to seniors who are unable to maintain their yards on their own. This service helps prevent local ordinance citations, reduces safety hazards, and keeps our seniors' outdoor spaces looking cared for and respected.

What We’re Looking For:
We’re seeking reliable, compassionate volunteers who are willing to lend a hand (and a lawn mower!) this summer. Volunteers will be matched with one or more seniors and commit to mowing their lawns at least every other week through the summer season.

What You’ll Need to Know:

CCWC will provide a push mower Volunteers must be able to transport the mower using their own vehicle You’ll be making a direct impact on someone’s life, right in your community This is a great opportunity for teens (with parent permission), families, or anyone looking to give back outdoors

Why It Matters:
Your time and effort help preserve the dignity of our senior neighbors while ensuring their homes remain safe and ordinance-compliant. It's more than just mowing a lawn—it's showing care, compassion, and community spirit.
